Our Story
Patio Drummond, the company
The story begins in the 1950s with Charles-Édouard Lemaire
The first generation
The adventure began four generations earlier when Charles-Édouard founded his company specialized in cinder blocks and concrete products on Mercure Boulevard in Drummondville.
Henri - The transition from craftsmanship to industrial production
The second generation
Twenty years later, in 1970, Charles-Édouard’s son and his wife restructured their father’s business by opening Patio Drummond, first in l’Avenir, then in Saint-Nicéphore. The automation of operations allowed the company to transition from small-scale manufacturing to industrial-scale production. Henri also diversified the activities by creating Meubles Extérieurs Drummond and Lattes Drummond HT, both still manufacturing concrete furniture and prefabricated concrete products for the agricultural sector.
Yvan and Dominic - Technology and new markets
The third generation
In 1992, the third generation entered the scene with the sons of Henri who were already working in the company, and the growth continued unabated. Alone at the helm from 1997 and passionate about innovation, Yvan increases automation by introducing new technologies while promoting the opening of new markets for the company.
Patio Drummond acquires Paventia
Patio Drummond acquires Paventia, a manufacturer of high-end precast concrete products for professionals. Company recognized for its know-how and its original Italian equipment, Paventia distributed its products in English Canada and in the northeastern United States.
In 2014, Paventia’s operations were repatriated to Patio Drummond in Drummondville. Relying on its in-depth knowledge of concrete and the quality of Paventia’s machines, Patio Drummond continues to innovate and diversify its offer every day.
Tommy and Alisson – The Age of Diversification
The fourth generation
In the early 2000s, the company began to diversify by acquiring a refractory manufacturer. Then in 2014, Patio Drummond acquired a company specializing in high-end landscaping products from Sainte-Thérèse, Paventia, whose activities were brought to the Drummondville plant.
With the arrival of Tommy and Alisson and while building on its knowledge of concrete, Patio Drummond develops new niches, such as steps, balconies and lamp bases, and in 2015, it created the new division for the manufacture of prefabricated steps. That same year, Alisson’s husband Philippe joined the team. Tommy, Alisson and Philippe are now carrying on the tradition of excellence.
