Prefabricated concrete balconies - Pomerleau

In recent weeks, Patio Drummond has delivered no less than 10,500 square feet of precast concrete balconies (21 different types of balconies) to the village of Cap-aux-Meules, approximately 1,273 km from Drummondville. The project required a total of 13 transports, or 16,549 km of delivery, and was made possible by the CTMA (Coopérative de transport maritime et aérien) - our balconies had to take the ferry to be delivered directly to the construction site! (We're a little crazy, because taking more than 100 balconies on a ferry requires extreme foresight. Fortunately, we had great support!) As soon as the balconies arrived on site, the project's general contractor and one of his installation teams quickly set about installing the 108 balconies. The impressive project took 7 days to install by a team of 4 men, assisted by a crane to handle the balconies.

Very good experience, courteous and always available service when needed. Installation was easy, efficient, and fast. Very good product as well. We will definitely do business with Patio Drummond for future projects. Sébastien Couillard, Project Manager - Pomerleau company

Concrete Fun Fact

Some balconies in the project have "skirts" that allow contractors to run their ventilation ducts underneath the balconies. They then close everything up without impacting the aesthetic appeal of the project. This is why you can see HSS tubes coming directly out of the steel structure where the balconies are placed. This process requires less installation time since the handling and placement of columns is not necessary. The balcony is mechanically attached underneath the forks!

Why trust Patio Drummond's expertise?

Pomerleau, the company in charge of the project, used our precast concrete balconies with durability in mind: our balconies are reinforced with a steel structure and are cast at our factory, which is why they are an advantageous choice, even thousands of kilometers away! - No need to bring in raw materials or large teams to pour concrete on site! In addition to being cast in the factory in a temperature-controlled environment, our balconies were custom designed and specified for the project by our engineers. This process is very important at Patio Drummond, as it ensures the solidity of the balconies during handling and installation. A precast balcony can last up to 100 years (depending on use). YES YES! Up to 100 years!

For your large-scale projects, trust Patio Drummond!
