A lunch, some ideas, a greener future: a look back at our May Lunch n' Share

At Patio Drummond, we like to think that great ideas are born around a table, especially when it's shared. On May 9th, during our monthly Lunch n’ Share, we gathered around a good meal (provided by the company!) to discuss a topic as essential as it is inspiring: sustainable development and greenhouse gases (GHG).

A moment of reflection... and action

Lunch n’ Share is more than just a simple lunch. It's an internal initiative aimed at creating an open forum for exchange, strengthening our corporate culture, and collectively advancing our vision. This month, the Addere team, an inspiring sustainable development consulting firm, came to present an overview of the situation: what GHGs are emitted by our activities and what concrete steps can we take to reduce them.

Concrete data to guide our decisions

The team shared key results, based on a rigorous inventory, which highlight the major sources of emissions at Patio Drummond, particularly transportation and energy consumption. It’s important in this type of approach to know where you start to really make a difference and measure progress. Thus, rather than sticking to big ideas, we analyzed realistic action plans adapted to our reality.

Actions already in place (and this is just the beginning!)

This Lunch n’ Share was also an opportunity to review the initiatives already underway at Patio Drummond, such as:

  • Valorization of residual materials in production;
  • Energy optimization of our buildings;
  • And more broadly, our commitment to better measurement for better action.

These efforts are aligned with our sustainable development plan, built in collaboration with Addere, and demonstrate our desire to have a positive impact, not only for the company but also for our communities. We will soon set up a sustainable development committee composed of employees from different sectors. Its role? To propose, monitor, and support green initiatives on a daily basis, directly related to our on-the-ground reality. This participatory approach will not only ensure better monitoring of our objectives but also give a voice to those who experience our operations from the inside.

An employer brand that is truly lived

This type of meeting is also a great example of our corporate culture: transparent, participatory, and forward-looking. We don't just make decisions from the top; we inform, exchange, and involve. As one partner present said: "This kind of lunch gives us the means to reflect on our impact — at work, but also at home." Another added: "We feel that this is not just a box to tick. Sustainable development, at Patio, is something we live and build together."

What's next?

The work has only just begun. Thanks to the discussions at Lunch n’ Share, new ideas are emerging, new reflexes are developing, and common goals are taking shape. That's exactly the Patio Drummond spirit: moving forward together, sustainably and humanely.
